We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purposes and on what legal basis.
Data Collected
When you visit this website, the following data is processed:
- Technical access data that your browser automatically sends when visiting any website (e.g. IP address, browser type, page requested, time of access)
- Technically necessary cookies (language selection and, where a cookie banner is shown, your cookie settings)
- Data about clicks on affiliate links (see “Click measurement for affiliate links”)
- Pseudonymous usage data from analytics tools (see “Analytics”)
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting us
We process the technical access data and the technically necessary cookies to provide the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics
This website may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to better understand how visitors interact with the site. These tools may use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Affiliate Links
Some links on this website are affiliate links. When clicking these links, tracking may be performed by the affiliate partner to attribute a potential commission.
Click measurement for affiliate links
When you open an affiliate link on this website, you are forwarded to the retailer via our own redirect page. In doing so, we record your IP address, your approximate location derived from it (country, region, city, postal code), your browser's identifier (user agent), technical characteristics of your device and browser (including screen size, graphics processor, processor cores, memory, time zone, language and operating system), the requested and destination addresses, and details of the advertising campaign through which you reached the website. We derive pseudonymous identifiers from some of these characteristics. We also set the cookie “vid” containing a random identifier (stored for 400 days) to recognize repeat clicks from the same browser. The purpose is to attribute and settle commissions and to detect automated access (bots) and click fraud. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in settling commissions and preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is stored in Google BigQuery (Google Cloud); it may be transferred to the United States on the basis of the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), under which Google is certified. We keep the data only as long as needed for settling commissions and detecting abuse. You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).
Contact
If you contact us via email, your information will only be used to respond to your inquiry and will not be shared with third parties.
Your Rights
You have the right to access your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR) and to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you can object to the processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live (Art. 77 GDPR).
